Video: Two sides of Helvellyn – Sticks Pass and Wythburn
Helvellyn is home to the highest bridleway in England – which goes all the way to its 950m summit.
It’s also home to some of the best riding in the country, with a choice of lengthy and technically challenging trails running in different directions from the top.
The problem (if that’s the right word) is that while it’s a strenuous ride, it really only fills half a day at the most. So why not do it twice?
That’s what Mackerel & Laphroaig riders Pete, Neal and Andrew did at the weekend – and Pete’s put together his first video edit to mark the occasion…
It starts with the descent of Sticks Pass, followed by some cheekiness – then onto the epic Wythburn descent which heads down south west to Grasmere.
I haven’t ridden that one yet, but if it looks that techy and steep in the video then I’m sure it won’t disappoint.
